Following the sad news from yesterday , CCC have sent the following information:
Our books of condolence are in place and being used by people across the district to send their thoughts and prayers to the Royal Family.
The books are available at:
The Beaney
Canterbury Cathedral King’s Hall Whitstable Castle
We have delivered pages to our sheltered schemes so the residents there can express their feelings.
We’ve let people know via social media, our websites and press releases that if they want to lay flowers, we would like them to consider doing so at Canterbury Cathedral, the Memorial Park in Herne Bay and at Whitstable Castle.
Tomorrow (Saturday) has now been confirmed as Principal Proclamation Day which means the following day (Sunday) the Proclamation will be read by the Lord Mayor outside Canterbury Cathedral’s Christchurch Gate in the Buttermarket at 3pm.
It is a public event so all are welcome to attend. We’ve advised our councillors and officers that the dress code will be sombre.
