After many questions from residents, below is a quick guide to area-specific local plan issues.

There is a lot of detail, and the questionnaire runs to many pages, although you do not have to respond to everything in order for your views to be counted. In the course of helping Blean Forest residents to complete their responses, we have found that Chapters 1,2 and 5 have been the most commonly chosen, and there is some detail below on what you will find there

The key links you will need are:

The draft Local plan itself:

You can find the topic papers with more information here:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/10rbSLQGqrzY6ZL48ZZDZfv05Be9-HTlY

Specifically the transport topic paper has more information, though not the answer to many questions, especially involving zones and movement corridors.

The actual questionnaire is here:

we recommend saving it and then going back in, so that you donโ€™t have to do it all in one go. You will be emailed a link with your saved version.

Chapter by Chapter Guide

When opening the form you will be asked which sections you wish to comment on. You donโ€™t have to choose them all or comment on every topic in each section. The list below includes where to find the most commonly requested issues in our recent experience:

Chapter 1: Spatial Strategy for the District to 2045
This contains Policy SS4(Rough Common) which is on page 16 of the local plan document above. Although there is little detail on the proposals, you have the opportunity to comment.

Chapter 2: Canterbury

This contains Policy C26 – Land north of University of Kent which is on page 79 of the draft plan. It concerns the land between the University and Blean Church, alongside the crab&winkle way

Chapter 5: Rural Areas

There is a lot here, but specifically, it contains

Policy R3: Blean which can be found on page 130 of the plan.

And

Policy R26 Broad Oak Reservoir and Country Park which is on page 181

Again, we have been assured nothing will be finalised until after this Mayโ€™s local elections, so have your say now on this consultation and make sure you register to vote in order to have your say again in May.
