The Bagpuss Birthday Bikeathon

You may be aware from press and tv coverage that the Hospices of Hope charity’s beloved mascot Bagpuss celebrates his 50th birthday this year!

To mark this momentous occasion they are arranging a community, fundraising event in East Kent close to where Bagpuss was produced by Peter Firmin and Oliver Postgate at their Small Films studio all those years ago.

The Bagpuss Birthday Bikeathon takes place on Sunday 19th May at Kent’s iconic race circuit at Lydden Hill and represents a fantastic opportunity for the community to join together to raise much-needed funds for children and adults with life-limiting illnesses, for families to cycle in a traffic-free environment and for local authorities to promote the benefits of cycling for physical and mental health.

They would be most grateful for any support you can give in helping them to promote the event and introducing them to any potential sponsors. Full details and information regarding registration are available in the flyer below and here

Should you need any further information then please do not hesitate to contact Paul Edwards below or alternatively pop along to meet Bagpuss between 12 and 2.30pmat The Beaney House of Art & Knowledge, 18 High St, Canterbury, CT1 2RA on Monday 12th February (Bagpuss’s official birthday!)

Many thanks for taking time to read this message and for your support.

Kind Regards

Paul
